Who We Are !
A senior fire service professional providing independent consulting and advisory services to municipalities and emergency service organizations, with more than 18 years of experience across large urban, composite, paid-on-call, and volunteer fire service environments. Consulting engagements are conducted in a professional and ethical manner and are fully independent of any current public-sector employment responsibilities.
Extensive experience includes supporting paid-on-call and volunteer fire departments in organizational effectiveness, training system design, officer and leadership development, policy and standard operating procedure development, and alignment with provincial legislation and NFPA standards. This background provides a strong understanding of the governance, staffing, training, and resource challenges unique to volunteer and composite services, including recruitment and retention, sustainability, and service delivery consistency.
Consulting expertise is informed by Fire Officer Level IV certification and long-standing experience in competency-based training delivery, curriculum development, performance evaluation systems, and compliance-focused program design. Advisory work supports career, composite, and volunteer services through evidence-based recommendations that are practical, scalable, and appropriate to local context.
From an executive and governance perspective, qualifications include completion of Fire Service Executive Management through Humber College and attainment of the Certified Municipal Manager Level III (CMM III) professional designation. These credentials support advisory services in strategic planning, service reviews, budget development, governance practices, labour-management advisory support, and leadership coaching within municipal and public-sector environments.
Engagements are advisory in nature and structured to ensure transparency, objectivity, and avoidance of real or perceived conflicts of interest. Consulting services do not involve operational command, regulatory authority, or decision-making on behalf of any employing organization. All recommendations are evidence-based and designed to support sustainable, defensible improvement.
